October 26, 1985, Doc (Christopher Llyod), back from the future by his time machine. Doc rushed to Marty (Michael J. Fox) and asked him to go to the future with him, into the date of October 21, 2015. At that time, the son of Marty and Jennifer (Elisabeth Shue), Martin, would have a problem and would be jailed. Doc invited Marty to rescue Martin. They tried to mess up the plan of Griff (Thomas F. Wilson), which caused Martin jailed. On their way, Doc was forced to make Jennifer fainted, because she was eager to find out all the events in the future. 

Doc tried to keep the secret of future and did not want anyone abuse on his time machine. They finally up in the future, October 21, 2015. Doc asked Marty to masquerade as Martin and went to Cafe 80. Marty must met Griff and refused his request. In the meanwhile, Jennifer who was still unconscious abandoned in an alley.

In cafe 80, Marty met his father's friend, Biff (Thomas F. Wilson). Marty also met Griff who was a grandson of Biff. Marty managed to save Martin and made Griff jailed. When Marty would back to meet Doc, Marty watched a news sports. At that moment, Marty get an idea, he bought an almanac sport book which summarize all the results of sporting events from 1950 through 2000. He would bring the book into 1985 and used it to bet and get much money. But Doc knew it and asked Marty to throw away that book.

Unbeknownst to Doc and Marty, Biff saw Marty and Martin. Biff was very surprised because they looked similar. Biff follow Doc and Marty to find out what was going on. Doc and Marty went back to Jennifer, but unfortunately the police find Jennifer. They brought her to home by finger detection. Doc and Marty immediately went to Jennifer home, before Jennifer realized and met with her family in the future. Biff heard their conversation. He knew that Doc and Marty are from the past. Biff knew that Doc has created a time machine. Biff followed them back to Jennifer home. When Doc and Marty tried to save Jennifer, Biff turned on time machine and went to 1955. He also brought almanac book which has been thrown away by Marty. But the top side of Biff crutch was broke and left in time machine.

Doc and Marty managed to save Jennifer, even though she fainted after seeing herself in the future. They returned to 1985, but Marty was surprised when he saw all the things in 1985 has changed. Biff became a famous millionaire. Biff married to Marty's mother, Lorraine (Lea Thompson). Marty's father, George Mc Fly had died. Doc would be jailed. What actually happened in 1985 when Doc and Marty go to the future? Did they can restore everything back to normally in 1985?

After the success of Back to the Future, the director and scriptwriter, Robert Zemeckis had to work hard on this sequel. Surely he hoped at least to repeat or even exceed the success of its prequel. But it is not an easy thing because the audience already has a comparison. And most movie sequels always failed to repeat earlier success. That's what happened in Back to the Future 2. In terms of total earned income and achievement, this film was still under its prequel. If Back to the Future posted a winning in Oscar 1986, category Best Effects, Sound Effects Editing, Back to the Future 2 just get a nomination in same category in Oscar 1990.

Back to the Future 2 is crazier than before. In terms of story, I prefer this sequel because the problem is more complex. This time, Zemeckis not only continued the previous story but also combine both of them. Zemeckis made it still look reasonable and acceptable. Just a suggestion from me, it is better if you watch Back to the Future before watching Back to the Future 2, because it will be very helpful in understanding the content of the story. Back to the Future 2 has more visual effects than before with much of freshly humour. Doc and Marty gave a good performance. Michael J. Fox seems more comfortable when played as Marty in this sequel.

There are more interesting things in Back to the Future 2, especially when the story takes period in 2015. Now is 2013 and almost over, only left a year to go to 2015. Will 2015 be the same as in the movie? Some of them have been found today, such as a fingerprint for identity, electronic device used by giving commands through voice and electronic payments. But the rest, such as flying vehicles and some innovations in clothing and food have not found today. The clothing style in 2015 which appeared in the film was also too much and will not be found in 2015 reality.

How about Back to the Future 3 ? I have been watched it, but has been so long, I have forgotten the story. I have to watch it again. I even made curious because Zemeckis replaced a statement "to be continued" in Back to the Future 2 which is usually found at the end of the movie with "to be concluded". I will review it soon.
