A Horror Movie which is Almost Perfect

The story begins with the young woman with a body bloodstained. She was running in the woods to escape from the pursuit of some people who want to catch her. She was caught and taken to a house in the woods. She was tied to a wooden pole in the cellar. An old lady was doing a ritual, hang some dead cats, preparing book of the death and some candles on a table. The young woman was shocked after seeing her father was also there with them. She was arrested because of her mother died. She had killed the mother. She begged the father to be released, but the old lady asked the father to burn the young woman as soon as possible.
The father take a bottle of gas and poured it on young woman body. He want to burn her. The young woman tried to influence the father once more, but failed. The father convinced that she was not his daughter, but the devil that have possessed of her. He pulled out a matchbox and will burn her. The young woman became angry and her face changed to be very creepy. She spoke with a foreign voice, cursing and threatening to take the father soul. The father wants his daughter died with peace, he burned and shot the young woman with a gun.

A few times after that, a group of teens, David (Shiloh Fernandez) and his girlfriend, Natalie (Elizabeth Blackmore), Eric (Lou Taylor Pucci) and his girlfriend, a nurse, Olivia (Jessica Lucas) came to that house. David's sister, Mia (Jane Levy) is a drug addict. It has been a few times they tried to rehabilitate Mia, but always failed. They finally chose a quite place, the house in the woods as a place of Mia rehabilitation. This time they did not want to fail, they promised to accompany Mia and would not take her home though she was hooked.
After a few hours, Mia began to feel hooked and complained which there was foul smell in the house. Olivia gave Mia a sedative, but Mia remained complained which foul smell that can not be smelled by others. A dog, called Grandpa, sniff something suspicious from under the carpet. When the carpet was opened there was a door with bloodstained. They opened the door and headed to the cellar. They found a lot of dead cats hung, a burned wood pole, book of the death and some candles on the table. They do not know what happened in the cellar before, but they could imagine a ritual in it. They were right, because the cellar is a place used to expel devil which possessed Young Woman.
Unbeknownst to his friends, Eric took book of the death. He cut all the barbed wire wrapped around the book and started to read. It causes the devil being free. The devil started to haunt Mia. Mia being scared and asked her friends to take her home, but they refused because it was determined not to bring Mia back. Mia chose to run away with her car heading into the woods. The devil does a series of terror against Mia and successfully possessed her.
The words, behaviours and sound of Mia being changed, but all of her friends thought that Mia hooked. They tried to calm her down by giving a sedative, but still useless. All of them, especially Eric, finally recognize the evil forces within Mia, after knowing that Mia had threatened their safety. One by one of them also possessed in order to kill each other.
Evil Dead is a remake of The Evil Dead, released in 1981. I've never watched The Evil Dead, so I'm not going to compare it with its predecessor. In my opinion, Evil Dead is a horror movie that is almost perfect, I say almost because the lack of Evil Dead is only in the story that is less on contained, less on detail and music background which get less attention. I did not hear it used to sweeten and add an element of suspense horror movie. But, aside from that, Evil Dead is able to display a complete horror movie in terms of suspense, terror, violence, horrible, setting and make up the players.

Evil Dead suspense can be felt when the movie started. The terror displayed with a various of ways so that the audience does not get bored and enthusiastic to follow it until the movie ends. I really like the act of terror when the devil singing a childhood song Mia and David.
Evil Dead also show excess scenes of violence, such as the cutting action members of body, nails stuck in the face, tongue pieces on the floor and blood bursts. So for those of you who like horror movies with violence like SAW or Texas Chainsaw but also want to enjoy the typical terror old horror movie, I highly recommend watching this movie.
The horrible in Evil Dead not only rely on the antagonistic character but also involve the protagonist character. Just look at when Natalie had to cut her arm. She did it in a conscious condition and not in a demon possession. It was horrible and disgusting.
At the end of points, Evil Dead successfully present a quiet, dirty and scary place, through the haunted house, the cellar and the foggy forest. The make up of devil is also not excessive but still looks scary.
