This time, I am reviewing a movie title, Emergo, also known as Apartment 143. Basically, I like all genres movie, but watching horror movie has been a requirement for me. When I'm bored and not excited, I usually choose watch horror movie. It will eliminate my boredom and make me more excited. A few days ago, I received an invitation to watch Emergo from a friend who also likes horror movie. Of course I do not refuse and accept it with my pleasure hohoho.... ^^. Allan White (Kai Lennox) has just lost his wife in a car accident. Allan with his children, Caitlin (Gia Mantegna) and Benny (Damian Roman) moved into an apartment number 143. They often find something strange in the apartment.

Evil Dead (2013)

A Horror Movie which is Almost Perfect

The story begins with the young woman with a body bloodstained. She was running in the woods to escape from the pursuit of some people who want to catch her. She was caught and taken to a house in the woods. She was tied to a wooden pole in the cellar. An old lady was doing a ritual, hang some dead cats, preparing book of the death and some candles on a table. The young woman was shocked after seeing her father was also there with them. She was arrested because of her mother died. She had killed the mother. She begged the father to be released, but the old lady asked the father to burn the young woman as soon as possible.

INSIDIOUS 2 (2013)

More Complex and Better than its Prequel, Insidious 1

At this time, I am fond of horror movies. I do not know why, but after watching The Conjuring, I want to add the frequency of watching horror movies. Although The Conjuring that directed by James Wan is not included in the list of favorites on this blog, but the spooky scenes and a surprising one in the film was able to make me unable to sleep one night because imagined the scene. Now, James Wan re-work on horror track, with Insidious 2, which is a sequel of Insidious 1. Because I've been watching Insidious 1, of course I would not miss this film, I also wonder if James Wan will repeat the success of The Conjuring.

Her husband, Charles Stewart (Christopher Eccleston) is a soldier at war and never come home. No one knows for sure, if he is still alive or dead. As a mother and head of the family, Grace set everything in the house firmly and discipline. Grace always strives to give the best for her children, because they suffer a rare skin disease. Their skin is very sensitive to sunlight. Grace always worries about her children excessively. Grace brings all the key rooms wherever she goes.

Horror Movie with a bit of Ghost Sightings

Ellison Oswalt (Ethan Hawke) is a famous author of crime novels. One of his best-selling novels is fiction story, Kentucky Blood. Oswalt wants repeat the successful of Kentucky Blood. He wanted to write a true story of a murder that has made one family dead hanging under the tree. But, Stephanie coud not be found and declared lost. This time, Oswalt worked very seriously. He invites Tracy (Juliet Rylance) and their children, Trevor (Michael Hall D'Addario) and Ashley (Clare Foley) to stay at the house where the murder happened. But, Oswalt did not tell anything about history of the house to his family.

Film Horor yang Sekedar Menakutkan

Film ini bercerita tentang kutukan yang menimpa sebuah rumah yang pernah ditinggali oleh keluarga Takeo Saeki. Saeki telah membunuh istrinya, Kayako dan Toshio, anak laki-lakinya, dan seekor kucing hitam peliharaan Toshio. Karena dendam, arwah Kayako dan Toshio mengutuk siapapun yang pernah masuk atau tinggal dalam rumah itu. Rangkaian teror kutukan itu sudah berlangsung sangat lama dan menyebabkan semua orang yang pernah berhubungan dengan rumah itu hilang secara misterius. Awal cerita Ju-On dimulai dari sebuah keluarga yang juga tinggal di rumah itu, yaitu keluarga Tokunaga.

Josh Lambert (Patrick Wilson), Renai Lambert (Rose Byrne) bersama ketiga anaknya, Dalton (Ty Simpkins), Foster dan bayinya baru saja pindah ke rumah baru. Beberapa hari setelah kepindahan mereka, Dalton mendadak mengalami koma. Semua hasil pemeriksaan menyebutkan kondisi tubuh Dalton tidak mengalami masalah apapun. Setelah 3 bulan dirawat di rumah sakit, Dalton akhirnya dibawa pulang untuk menjalani perawatan di rumah meskipun masih dalam keadaan koma. Sejak kepulangan Dalton ke rumah, Josh dan keluarganya sering mengalami kejadian aneh di dalam rumah.

Shutter, Horor Thailand yang juga Bertutur Cerita dan Makna

Dalam perjalanan pulang setelah makan malam bersama teman-teman masa kuliah, Tun (Ananda Everingham) dan kekasihnya, Jane (Natthaweeranuch Thongmee) dikejutkan dengan kemunculan seorang gadis yang secara tiba-tiba melintas di depan mobil mereka. Jane yang saat itu tengah mengemudi sambil berbincang bersama dengan Tun, terlambat menyadari kehadiran gadis itu. Mobil mereka langsung menabrak gadis itu dan kemudian menabrak sebuah papan iklan di pinggir jalan. Tubuh gadis itu tergeletak di pinggir jalan. Jane sangat ketakutan dan meminta Tun untuk turun dan memeriksa kondisi gadis itu.

Super Mengagetkan, Menyeramkan, SAYANG SEKALI Ceritanya Biasa

Skor      :  7.2 / 10
 

Saya mengetahui film ini pertama kali dari sepupu saya yang mengatakan kalau film ini bagus dengan skor yang tergolong tinggi saat itu, di IMDB (8) dan Rotten Tomatoes (86%). Beberapa artikel di internet juga menyebutkan, meskipun The Conjuring diproduksi dengan biaya yang tergolong rendah, yaitu sekitar 13.000.000 USD tapi film ini menjadi Box Office dengan pendapatan yang lebih besar dari beberapa pesaingnya yang diproduksi dengan biaya yang lebih tinggi seperti The Wolverine dan Pacific Rim. Dua alasan itulah yang mendorong saya untuk menonton film ini.

Tidak Semua Hadiah Itu Adalah Berkat

Film yang mengangkat tema tentang indera keenam ini adalah salah satu film terbaik dan mendapatkan 6 nominasi Oscar pada tahun 2000, meskipun tidak ada satupun piala Oscar yang berhasil dibawa pulang. Nominasi Best Picture di Oscar menjadikan The Sixth Sense sebagai film horor keempat setelah sebelumnya The Silence of The Lambs, Jaws, dan The Exorcist mendapatkan nominasi itu. The Sixth Sense juga berada di 89 film Terbaik Sepanjang Masa, versi The American Film Institute untuk film yang direlease antara tahun 1997 sampai 2005 (Sumber : IMDB).  Film ini bercerita tentang seorang psikiater anak, Dr. Malcolm Crowe (Bruce Willis).

Asura (2012)

Asura, Animasi Jepang dengan Pesan Moral yang Bagus

Beberapa hari ini saya mencari beberapa alternatif film dengan nuansa berbeda untuk mengatasi kejenuhan. Saya tidak sengaja menemukan film animasi Jepang yang direlease pada tahun 2012, yaitu ASURA. Seperti biasa, sebelum memutuskan untuk menonton sebuah film saya selalu melihat skor di IMDB sebagai masukan. Skornya juga tidak terlalu buruk. Akhirnya saya putuskan untuk menonton ASURA. Hasilnya? Saya tidak menyesal memilih ASURA. ASURA sangat layak ditonton untuk orang dewasa dan sayang untuk dilewatkan. Dari segi animasi memang masih belum sebaik produksi barat, tapi dari segi cerita dan penyampaian karakter, ASURA adalah salah satu yang terbaik. Ceritanya sangat sederhana tapi memiliki makna yang sangat bagus.
